Salary Range: School Officer Level 3 $34.17 - $35.62 Gross hourly rate plus 12.75% Superannuation

Good Counsel College is a small, but growing, Catholic co-educational secondary school with a strong sense of community and pride that offers a quality and holistic educational experience for students in Years 7-12. About the Role

In this role, the School Officer (Hospitality & Food Technologies) will work alongside teaching staff to provide learning and practical support to all students within Hospitality and Food Technologies. The role will assist students during classroom and practical activities, as well as support the preparation, organisation and maintenance of practical learning environments to ensure classes operate safely and effectively.

The successful applicant will have strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to engage positively with young people in a practical learning environment.

A Certificate III in Education Support is desirable, with demonstrated skills in supporting student learning. Experience in hospitality, food preparation or a commercial kitchen environment, together with knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, is highly regarded.

The chosen candidate will be required to:
  • Provide one–to-one or small group student support
  • Assist students to remain engaged and on task in learning activities
  • Support student wellbeing, independence and social development
  • Assist teachers with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
  • Attend excursions and activities as required
  • Support the Catholic ethos and values of the College
