Catholic Education Cairns has partnered with Australian Catholic University, James Cook University and Central Queensland University (Cairns based and students studying externally) to offer scholarships to final year Education students as part of our commitment to attract, develop and retain graduate teachers at our schools in the region. Students in their 3rd year of study should apply in 2026 to be in their final year in 2027.
Benefits
- Fourth year students receive payment of $1200 towards study expenses.
- Potential placement in a Catholic school.
- Professional development throughout the year as part of our Undergraduate Connect and Getting Ready for Employment' program.
The scholarships also provide both financial and practical assistance to ACU students travelling from Brisbane, including support with airfares, accommodation assistance and living expenses while scholarship recipients are in far northern Catholic schools for the duration of their practicum. A car is also provided if required for travel to school.
