Salary Range: Services Staff Level 3 - $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour plus 12.75% Super

St Joseph's Parish School, Weipa

St Joseph’s Parish School is seeking a Tuckshop Convenor to manage the everyday running of our Tuckshop. 

We are currently inviting applications for an enthusiastic Tuckshop Convenor to support our busy tuckshop. The Convenor will manage all the functions of the Tuckshop to ensure the provision of high quality, freshly prepared food and drinks whilst providing a high level of customer service in the School's tuckshop. This includes, but is not limited to, being responsible for the planning of menus, purchase and ordering of food and supplies and ensuring compliance to food safety and equipment maintenance standards. 

The Tuckshop Convenor supports the provision of an exceptional food and service quality in a Smart Food Choices school environment. The Tuckshop is a very in-demand service to the staff and students at St Joseph’s.

The Tuckshop Convenor will report to the Principal and will meet regularly to discuss all matters regarding affecting the running of Tuckshop. This may include advice concerning the menu, new products, price changes, equipment maintenance or upgrade requirements.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Actively plan for and maintain high standards of management and administration.
  • Order goods from suppliers in accordance with the requirements set out by the school
  • To manage the rostering of staff and volunteers ensuring adequate and essential training and induction processes are followed.
  • To be aware of and comply with regulations and expectations for health and safety at all times.
  • To be aware of and comply with the annual budget for Tuckshop.
  • Actively promote the Tuckshop on the school Facebook page.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

This position relies heavily on teamwork, effective communication and a knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements. 

The successful applicant is required to:

  • Undergo Mandatory Student Protection training.
  • Hold a current Blue Card.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Have the ability to manage and lead staff and volunteers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, initiative and enthusiasm.
  • To uphold the staff Code of Conduct at all times. 
  • Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education

PREFERRED BUT NON-ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • First Aid qualifications
  • Accredited Barista training
  • Experience using online rostering software -flexischools
