MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter is seeking applications for an Industrial Technology & Design Workshop Assistant to join our College in Term 4, 2025 or Term 1, 2026 (negotiable).
MacKillop Catholic College, a master-planned Prep to Year 12 College located in the growing southern corridor of Cairns, was established in 2016 with Prep-Year 3 classes. The College has developed progressively, adding additional year levels annually, and commenced secondary education in 2020 with Year 7, and the first Year 12 cohort graduating in 2025. Guided by the authentic discipleship of Saint Mary MacKillop of the Cross, and the Josephite tradition, our mission, to inspire hearts, minds and spirits, is grounded in the vision to provide quality 21st century education to the young people in our community.
The Industrial Technology & Design (ITD) Workshop Assistant role is to provide technical and logistical support by modelling, demonstrating and supervising student use of machinery in the ITD Workshop.
It is a diverse role, requiring diverse skills, including practical skills with timber, metal and construction as well as administrative skills, including completing order forms for the purchasing of materials, basic filing and OHS safety compliance documentation.
Experience working in an appropriate industry with construction, electrical engineering skills, welding skills or trade or school experience in the ITD Department will be highly regarded.
