About the Role
We are currently seeking 2 Part Time Grounds and Maintenance Officers to join our team:
# Job 1 - 7:00am-12:00pm - Monday-Friday
# Job 2 - 11:00am-4:00pm - Monday-Friday
These positions would be highly suitable for applicants who enjoy all aspects of gardening and has some basic maintenance skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to:
• Undertakes major non-trade maintenance of equipment.
• Handles chemicals and spraying, where required to hold an appropriate licence.
• Assists in constructions and installation of facilities and systems at a level not requiring trade qualifications including painting, concreting, tiling, carpentry, plumbing and basic extra low voltage DC principles.
• Assist in construction of fences and irrigation systems.
• Assist with preparation for school functions.
• Maintenance and repair of small engines.
• Maintains fences and irrigation systems.
• Attending to general building, grounds and equipment works within the school property.
• Liaise with contractors whilst they are on school grounds.
• Maintain records of all work performed.
• Moving school furniture and equipment when required.
• Report and graffiti/damage to school property to the Principal.
• Maintain building and grounds in the school environment.
• Maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Maintain a safe a physical working environment.
• Maintenance of fixtures in and around the school property.
• Responding to security contacts.
• Landscape maintenance:
o Paths
o Storm water
o Drains, gutters
o Tree trimming
o Mowing
• General maintenance:
o Repairs to doors, door locks, closers
o Window maintenance
o Basic plumbing repairs
o Painting
o Changing of lights
• Work with the Principal and WHS Officer to ensure requirements of the current WH&S Act and Regulations are met.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Principal.
Work Requirements
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
- Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.
