The Retail Supervisor appointed in this position is required to demonstrate competencies that are normally used within routines, methods and procedures involving the application of knowledge with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills. The employee will be fully competent and experienced in a technical sense and requires little guidance. Over time the employee will demonstrate understanding of a broad knowledge base in a range of roles in a variety of contexts.
There is some complexity in the extent and choice of actions required. Come discretion and judgement are involved in selection of equipment, work organisation, services, actions and achieving outcomes within time constraints. As the employee gains experience they may be asked to identify, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Work is carried out under limited supervision or may take the form of broad guidance. Work may be checked in relation to overall progress. A level of autonomy may be required when working in teams. The employee operates autonomously individually or within a work team. Over time the employee may be asked to lead to supervise a work team. The employee may have limited responsibility for the guidance of the work of others. Team coordination may be required.
