Hours: 38 hours per week

Salary Range: CCEO Level 8 - $139,695 to $155,208 Gross per annum

About the Role

This position calls for a highly experienced educator with enthusiasm and commitment to work in a challenging and rewarding role, providing Catholic educational leadership for learning and teaching services through coordination, advocacy, representation and delivery of services to support the Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns.

In this role the Consultant will assume responsibility for supporting school leadership to implement the key areas of Curriculum, Pedagogy, Assessment and Reporting (CPAR) as they relate to the SIP (System Improvement Priorities) and the SAIP (School Annual Improvement Plan). Primarily, the role works with a portfolio of schools, drawing on expertise and currency of practice. The role holder, in partnership with schools and the Learning and Teaching Directorate will develop and implement a comprehensive professional learning program to enhance the professional capacity of staff.

This position provides support in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, reporting and data to those who hold leadership positions in schools and colleges, including specialist support in the above areas that are relevant to the learning needs of young people in the CEDC Special Assistance School, Holy Spirit College.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

Essential:
• Formal Degree level qualifications in Education.
• Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
• Registered, or eligible to register with, Queensland College of Teachers.
• Strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of Catholic Education.
• Current drivers licence.
• Ability to travel within/beyond the Diocese including overnight stays.
• Promote child safety at all times.
 
Desired:
• School Leadership experience at a Middle or Senior level and/or varied teaching experiences with a focus on curriculum, pedagogy
   and/or inclusion is highly valued.
• Qualifications at post graduate level in educational leadership or related fields and commitment to ongoing professional growth.

  2. Excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, QCAA Senior Secondary syllabi, effective pedagogical practices, and assessment informing instruction.
  3. Ability to shape educational strategic thinking and drive continuous school and system improvement.
  4. Ability to design and deliver whole school and targeted professional development to school leaders and teachers around curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, reporting and data.
  5. Ability to cultivate productive working relationships and contribute towards a culture of trust and collaboration.
