Employment Type: 12 month full-time fixed term contract ending 4 June 2027

Salary Range: CES Office Salary Scale Level 4 - $80,318 to $90,765 FTE gross per annum

About the Role

The Technical Support Officer (Service Desk) is a front‑line helpdesk role, providing direct user support within our busy head office and school environments. You will act as the first point of contact for IT assistance, with support from a Team of experienced IT staff for more complex issues.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, patient, and professional user assistance and mentorship, particularly to non-technical users.

Responsibilities include daily service desk support, routine checking of office systems such as meeting rooms, AV equipment, printers, and desktop and collaborative technologies, as well as travel to school sites across the region – Cairns and the Northern Beaches.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional approach
  • Experience or aptitude in supporting Information Technology systems
  • High interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage routine and reactive tasks
  • Professional presentation suitable for a front‑facing support role
  • A willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a technical support team

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
  • Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
  • Current valid driver’s licence (travel to school sites is required)
