Librarian (Non-Teaching), Good Counsel College

Commencement Date: Monday, 25 May 2026 (or as negotiated)

Employment Type:  Term Time, Permanent, 6 hours 45 minutes per week (1 day per week - Friday)

Salary Range: School Officer Level 4 $36.98 to $38.14 Gross per hour plus 12.75% Superannuation

Good Counsel College is a small, but growing, Catholic co-educational secondary school with a strong sense of community and pride that offers a quality and holistic educational experience for students in Years 7-12. About the Role

The Librarian plays a pivotal and dynamic role within the school community, overseeing the management of the Resource Centre while fostering a culture of learning that embraces modern, connected education.

The Librarian collaborates with staff to integrate information literacy, literature, and digital resources into the curriculum, including supporting teachers to deliver library information literacy lessons for Year 7 and 8 students.

The chosen candidate will be required to:

  • Promoting information literacy, fostering a love of reading, and collaborating with teachers to embed information skills into student learning.
  • Resource Information Specialist: Ensuring efficient access to information resources, training students and staff in their use, and supporting independent learning.
  • Information Services Manager: Managing the Resource Centre, evaluating and curating resources, and creating a welcoming environment that supports both student and teacher needs.

Additionally, the Librarian provides multimodal access to resources, supports 21st-century learning environments, and offers troubleshooting for IT systems to ensure seamless technology integration.

Additionally, the candidate will be required to:
  • Attend team meetings as required and support collegial learning by sharing learnings with colleagues.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development to learn and apply new knowledge and skills
  • Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
  • Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
