Classroom Teacher

We are looking for a highly motivated teacher willing to teach Year 5 full time for term 2, 2026 and then continue teaching the same class Thursday / Friday for the remainder of the school year.

  • Commencement Date: April 2026
  • Employment Type: Term 2 - 30 hours per week - Terms 3 & 4 - 12 hours per week, Thursday/Friday
  • Salary Range: Commensurate with proven experience - Graduate $84,077 to Lead Teacher $142,764 FTE Gross per annum + 12.75% super

The township is picturesquely situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, about five kilometres from the coast.

About the Role

Good Counsel Primary School, Innisfail is currently accepting applications for a fixed-term leave coverage contract for Term 2 full time and Thursday/ Friday continuing for the remainder of the school year.  The position is replacing a Year 5 Teacher going on Long Service Leave for Term 2 who currently works Monday - Wednesday and the second teacher who will be on Parental Leave for the remainder of the year who works 2 days, Thursday/ Friday.


As a Teacher you will:

  • Deliver effective learning and teaching programs which will be pre- prepared by the current teachers
  • Adapt planning and make modifications if required to the planning
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school objectives and school planning
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment

Teachers are accountable to and under the direction of the school Principal or delegate. 

Work Requirements

  • Be registered or eligible to be register with Queensland College of Teachers
  • Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
