MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter is seeking applications for a Defence School Mentor (DSM) who is passionate about the wellbeing of children and young adults as part of the Defence School Mentor Program (DSMP).

Contract Dates: Monday 27 January 2025 to Friday 23 January 2026
Salary Range: ASOC Level 3 - $33.17 - $34.58 gross per hour
Employment Type: Term-Time, Fixed-Term
Hours: 12 Hours Per Week (days/hours negotiable)

MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter

MacKillop Catholic College, a master-planned Prep to Year 12 College located in the growing southern corridor of Cairns, was established in 2016 with Prep-Year 3 classes. The College has developed progressively, adding additional year levels annually, and commenced secondary education in 2020 with Year 7, and the first Year 12 cohort graduating in 2025.  Guided by the authentic discipleship of Saint Mary MacKillop of the Cross, and the Josephite tradition, our mission, to inspire hearts, minds and spirits, is grounded in the vision to provide quality 21st century education to the young people in our community.

About the Role

The DSM program, delivered in schools, is designed to provide practical assistance to Defence families and support the wellbeing of Defence students within their schools.

The DSM role provides specialised, on-site support to meet the needs of Defence students and their families within the school community. The DSM’s role is embedded in MacKillop Catholic College’s wellbeing and student support team.
